I was purchasing a Garmin GPS for my husband for Christmas and the only charger available is the DC plug (cigarette lighter). Purchased this because the cigarette lighter outlet in our car no longer works. I purchased this adapter and it works perfectly as described.
I use it with my Garmin nuvi885T GPS. That works better for me than purchasing another power cable. Very happy with Amazon and Garmin AC/DC converter. I just plug the system into the converter and able to use the GPS with the MSN Direct DC cable.
Instead i bought this adapter. Thank you, Garmin. I refused to pay $70+ for the Sirius radio home listening system or $3/mo to listen to Sirius over the internet. With this adapter and the cigarette lighter plug that powers the radio (Stratus 6) in my car, I'm able to power the radio in my home, plug it into my computer speakers, and listen to Howard Stern.
